Position : Senior Technical Executive

Location base : HQ, Plaza Sentral & Site

Job purpose:

The Senior Technical Executive is responsible for overseeing the technical aspects of electrical area especially in Renewable Energy (RE) such as Solar photovoltaic (PV) projects including design, installation, project management, operation, and maintenance of systems. This role involves managing technical teams, maintaining high standards of quality and compliance, and liaising with stakeholders to deliver efficient and cost-effective solar solutions.

Accountabilities:

Engineering: Electrical (Chargeman)

  • To perform an electrical task, operates and to have controls and responsibilities on field work campaign and operation of electrical installation from Low Voltage (LV) system and up to 11 & 33kV which is suit to the Chargeman certificate.
  • The general job description is as per stated in Energy Commission regulation, Malaysia Act; Electricity Supply Act 1990 and Electricity Regulation 1994 and to have issue a Permit to Work (PTW) to the subordinate/workers.
  • Oversee the technical design of Renewable Energy (RE) especially in Electrical component but not limited to Solar PV systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards and client requirements.
  • Monitor vendors and contractors of maintenance activities, instruct, guide the workers to adhere to the Safety and Health Regulation, supervise upgrading works, oversee the normal operation and report the abnormalities.
  • Develop technical specifications, layouts, and schematics for projects.
  • Regulatory and Authority engagement for licensing and quota application/project approval and other relevant matter for Solar PV project.
  • Manage facilities statutory requirement and liaise with local authority for any related issues.
  • Manage administrative and special task as per instructed by Head of Contracting & Engineering (HCE).

 

Cost Management:

  • Optimize project budgets by selecting cost-effective technical solutions.
  • Evaluate and approve technical materials, components, and equipment.

 

Installation and Commissioning:

  • Supervise the installation and commissioning processes to ensure they align with project timelines and technical specifications.
  • Conduct quality assurance and control checks during installation.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues during commissioning.

 

Team Management:

  • Lead and mentor a team of engineers, technicians, and other technical staff.
  • Allocate resources effectively to meet project deadlines and objectives.
  • Provide training and professional development for team members.

 

Operational Excellence:

  • Ensure system performance meets or exceeds design expectations.
  • Monitor and analyze system performance metrics and recommend optimizations.
  • Establish maintenance protocols and manage O&M (Operations and Maintenance) activities.

 

Compliance, Governance and Standards:

  • Ensure adherence to local, national, and international regulations and standards.
  • Conduct regular audits to maintain safety and quality standards.
  • Keep updated with advancements in RE technology and industry best practices.
  • To comply with Citaglobal Group of companies’ governance and policies.

 

Stakeholder Collaboration:

  • Liaise with clients, authorities, contractors, and suppliers to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Provide technical insights during client meetings and presentations.
  • Prepare and present project reports, documentation, and performance analyses.

 

Job Specification

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Minimum Diploma or Professional Technical certificate (Engineering) with 10 years of experiences.
  • Must possess Competency Certificate registered with Suruhanjaya Tenaga (“ST”) with at least A0 for Low Voltage Chargeman position.
  • Proven experience in solar PV system design, installation, and management.

 

Knowledge & Skills

  • Strong knowledge of electrical works, components, solar technologies, inverters, batteries, and energy management systems.
  • Excellent leadership, project management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with safety standards and compliance regulations (e.g., IEC, NEC, ISO).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage with diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Possess own transport and willing to travel frequently.

 

Work Environment:

  • Based in the office with frequent site visits to RE Projects installation.
  • May require occasional travel to remote or international project locations.
  • Exposure to outdoor conditions during site assessments and inspections.
