CITAGLOBAL BERHAD acquires a 55% stake in Germany’s LAWI Engineering GmbH (LAWI Germany), a renowned renewable power plant technology company specialising in biomass and waste-to-energy solutions. The partnership between both companies will accelerate CITAGLOBAL’s foray into advanced waste-to-energy (WTE) technology and engineering solutions for waste management projects in Malaysia and regionally.

CITAGLOBAL BERHAD Makes First Overseas Energy Initiative With
Azerbajian Solar Project

CITAGLOBAL BERHAD signs framework agreement with the Port of Baku to establish a 5.4 MW solar photovoltaic (PV) facility. The project is Azerbaijan’s first commercial renewable energy project integrating solar power with an advanced Battery Energy Storage System (BESS). It is also CITAGLOBAL’s first overseas energy initiative.

CITAGLOBAL BERHAD signs Joint Development Framework Agreement (JDFA) with SUS Holding Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of Shanghai SUS Environment Co Ltd, the largest solid waste incinerator supplier in China. Both companies plan to collaborate on waste to energy (WtE) projects in Pahang and the use of agricultural waste such as empty oil palm fruit bunches (EFB) and residual palm oil to produce biomass energy in Malaysia.

CITAGLOBAL BERHAD signs Joint Development Framework Agreement (JDA) with Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company (Masdar) for the joint development of renewable energy and clean energy projects with combined capacity of 2GW.

“We are extremely honoured that our MOU with Masdar has been quickly turned into a binding JDA framework in less than six months. This is a strong show of commitment that both parties are determined to make Project 2GW a reality and a success. Together with Masdar, we are confident of making faster progress towards our climate targets, besides meeting Malaysia’s long-term energy requirements in a responsible and cost-efficient manner.

We would also like to express our utmost gratitude to the state of Pahang for its unwavering support for Project 2GW. We are deeply grateful. To the state of Pahang, the benefits from this project will significantly outweigh its cost. Besides the obvious economic multiplier effect, the livelihoods of the people of Pahang will be greatly enhanced via social innovations and environmental protection. This is similar to how Madar aims to power 50,000 homes and offset 214,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions from its first floating photovoltaic project in Cirata, West Java in Indonesia.”
