Mr. Megat Iskandar Hashim
Group Chief Operating Officer
Mr. Megat Iskandar Hashim Bin Ismail (“Megat Iskandar”) was appointed as the Group Chief Operating Officer of Citaglobal Berhad on 1 November 2024. He holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from the University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology, UK.
With close to three decades of experience in operations, project management, and corporate strategy, Megat Iskandar has established a distinguished career across the energy, construction, and project management sectors. He began his professional journey with Petronas Trading Corporation Sdn Bhd, where he managed oil trading operations and served as an analyst for the global oil market.
He further honed his expertise at Caltex Trading Pte Ltd, Singapore, as Head of Business Development in the Fuel Oil Department. In this capacity, he oversaw bunker fuel trading and led strategic initiatives for new business growth. In 2002, he joined H & I Niaga Sdn Bhd as Head of Planning and Special Projects, focusing on project development, planning, and client-focused monitoring.
Megat Iskandar continued to advance his career with senior project management roles at Menang Development (M) Sdn Bhd and PFI Project Management Sdn Bhd beginning in 2010. In 2013, he joined Crescent Energy Sdn Bhd as a Risk Manager and was later seconded to Maple Icon Sdn Bhd, where he was promoted to Chief Operating Officer, overseeing daily operations until 2016. He subsequently joined Betamek Electronics Sdn Bhd in 2017 as Chief Operating Officer, leading strategic operations and overseeing its successful IPO as Betamek Berhad in 2022.
In his current role at Citaglobal, Megat Iskandar oversees operational and business strategies, driving efficiency and growth initiatives. He also serves on the boards of several private companies, bringing his extensive experience in business development and project planning to advance Citaglobal’s strategic goals.
